At ISEN Ouest, international development is one of the school’s top priorities., and is supported by a number of levers.
A meaningful international experience for every student
International experience is already an essential part of the engineering program at ISEN Ouest — and it’s a requirement for graduation. To make this possible, ISEN Ouest continues to build official partnerships with international universities to expand student and faculty exchange opportunities and create new research collaborations.
This experience can take several forms:
- An academic exchange at one of our partner universities
- An international internship.
- Other activities such as a humanitarian mission or a workaway project.
It’s important to know that, to validate this experience, students must also present it and show what they have learned from it: this is just as important as the experience itself when it comes to graduating.
Welcoming international students and internationalizing our programs
At ISEN Ouest, we’re also determined to pursue the international@home movement, this means increasing the number of international students recruited & graduating, but also internationalizing our programs.
In 2024, the school was awarded the ‘Bienvenue en France’ label, level 2 stars (out of 3), for 5 years by the Campus France agency.
This label recognizes the quality of our efforts to welcome international students, across several criteria: quality of information, support, teaching, accommodation, campus life, post-graduation follow-up, and commitment to sustainable development and social responsibility. This recognition is a real added value, reflecting how well ISEN Ouest has structured its international student services.
A twofold objective
To pursue its international ambitions, ISEN Ouest has set two main goals:
- Strengthen our network of academic partners, in particular to offer more double degrees and internships opportunities in research laboratories,
- Expanding international recruitment through strategic partnerships and the introduction of English-language courses.
To achieve these goals, a dedicated team of 4 people works on our Brest, Nantes and Caen campuses.
