International Exchange Programs

Who Is Eligible?

To join ISEN Ouest as an exchange student, you must be nominated by one of our partner universities.

Contact your home university’s International Relations office to learn about existing agreements, nomination procedures, and academic and language requirements. Your international coordinator will also inform you which courses you can take at ISEN Ouest.

After nomination, you’ll receive an email with a link to our online application form.

You do not need to speak French to be admitted, but you must demonstrate adequate language proficiency for your course selection: B2 level in French for courses taught in French, B2 level in English for courses taught in English.

Semester Exchanges

Exchange semesters are available in the following specializations: Energy, Marine Technologies, Software Development, Robotics & Drones, Internet of Things, Electric Mobility.

  • Fall Semester: September to January
  • Spring Semester: January to April

Courses are listed in our courses catalogue.

On request, French as a foreign language (FLE) courses can also be offered.

Exchange students are not enrolled in the ISEN engineering degree program. They choose courses that match their degree requirements at home and must ensure compatibility with their institution’s rules.

Exchange students may take up to 30 ECTS per semester, with full-time standard being 30 ECTS. A reduced load is possible with approval from your home university.

Application Timeline & Required Documents

All applicants must be officially nominated. Upon nomination, you will be emailed the link to the online application.

During this online registration, the following documents must be uploaded.

  • Transcripts from your home university (in English, including ECTS credits)
  • A valid English language certificate at B2 level: TOEIC (min. 785), TOEFL iBT (min. 72), or an equivalent test (Cambridge, Duolingo)
  • A valid French language certificate at B2 level (required only if you wish to take scientific courses in French)
  • The identity page of your passport or national ID card (for EU citizens)
  • A passport-style ID photo
