Funding your studies

Pursuing an engineering degree is an exciting and ambitious choice — but it can also be a significant financial investment. Here are the funding opportunities available at ISEN Ouest.

Work-study program

All students who complete a post-secondary track at ISEN can choose the work-study option starting in Year 3 (BAC+2 level). Throughout the three years of the engineering cycle in work-study mode, students alternate between time at school and time at their host company.

In this format, tuition fees are fully covered by the host company, and students receive a salary throughout the final three years of their program. The minimum legal monthly salary for an engineering student in a work-study program is a percentage of the French minimum wage (SMIC), which varies depending on the student’s year and age. During the contract, the student has employee status.

Work-study in the final year

In the 2023–24 academic year, 90% of final-year students paid no tuition fees, choosing to study under a professionalization contract. In addition, they are paid by their host company during this year.

ISEN excellence scholarship

ISEN Excellence Scholarships help high-potential students with limited financial means * achieve their goals at our school.

Every year, five excellence scholarships are awarded to French students enrolling in Year 1 on the Brest, Caen, Nantes, Paris, and Rennes campuses. Each scholarship covers 50% of tuition fees for the entire program.

*Students likely to achieve the highest honors (mention Très Bien) in the French Baccalauréat.
