Program overview
In Years 1 and 2, you follow a science-based curriculum that includes life sciences while maintaining the essential foundations of engineering education: mathematics, physics, engineering sciences and digital technologies.
To tailor your studies to your interests, the SVT Cycle offers two options: Biology & Health or Environment. Both share a common scientific and technological foundation and allow you to discover how engineering sciences, digital technologies and Artificial Intelligence (AI) can help address challenges in healthcare and the environment.
In Year 3, you join the common core of the ISEN Ouest Engineering Cycle. You deepen your knowledge of engineering sciences and digital technologies before freely choosing your professional field in Year 4.
Curriculum

Biology & Health option
Are you passionate about biology and its applications in healthcare? The Biology & Health option allows you to develop a strong foundation in life sciences while exploring the growing role of technology in disease prevention, diagnosis and treatment.
What subjects are covered in greater depth in the Biology & Health option?
This option provides in-depth knowledge of life and health sciences, including cell biology, genetics, physiology and neuroscience. These subjects are combined with an introduction to technologies transforming healthcare, such as medical imaging, bio-nanotechnology, embedded systems and Artificial Intelligence.
Why choose the Biology & Health option?
This option bridges biology, healthcare, engineering sciences and digital technologies while maintaining the fundamental scientific knowledge required to continue your engineering studies.

A 3+2 pathway
A 3+2 pathway
At ISEN Ouest, you shape your own path through a 5-year engineering program. The SVT Cycle covers the first two years of your engineering studies. After completing the common third year, you can choose from a wide range of professional fields offered by ISEN Ouest across western France, without selection based on academic ranking.
From Year 4 onwards, you can specialize in one of the professional fields offered at ISEN Ouest that complement your initial cycle, such as:
- Digital Technologies, Environment & Sustainability
- Medical and Healthcare Technologies
- Agriculture and Digital Technologies
- Marine Technologies
However, all specialization options remain open to you.
